Travel safely
An enjoyable tour is one where you don’t even have to think about safety. That’s our goal. Read this to find out more about the steps we take to make sure you stay safe and comfortable when you travel with us, then relax into your GeoCultura vacation.
Before your tour
Tour planning: Alongside your enjoyment, safety is a core consideration from the moment we start planning a new tour. We always carry out necessary pre-tour assessments and schedule the tour to depart in the most preferable seasons for the destination.
Tour Activity Level: Before booking, please read the description of the Activity Level assigned to the tour so you can decide whether the tour suits your pace. Your Tour Leader can often suggest alternatives if you prefer to skip an activity but if you’re not sure about anything, feel free to call or email us.
Tell us about your requirements: Thirty days before your tour, we send a pre-tour information pack, including a Personal and Special Requests form. Please use this to inform us of any dietary needs and/or medical conditions.
This is also an opportunity to share your interests. We like to tailor our tours as much as possible, whether that means making sure your Tour Leader is prepped with stories you’ll enjoy or arranging any special experiences we think you’ll love.
What to pack: We include a suggested packing list in your pre-tour information to help you decide what to bring.
During your tour
High ratio of Tour Leaders to guests: Our high ratio of tour leaders and guides to guests ensures more personalised attention, whether that means going into more detail on the topics that interest you most or easily making any last-minute changes to the itinerary.
Expert Tour Leaders: Our carefully chosen tour leaders are experts in their fields, but they’re also there to ensure every aspect of your tour runs safely and comfortably.
Last-minute adaptations: It’s usually easy for us to adapt a tour to suit the group’s and/or your individual needs. The tour leader can modify the itinerary or tour activities. For example, if part of the group prefers a shorter walk while others opt for a longer one, we can usually accommodate both preferences.
First-aid qualifications: Your tour will always have someone with a current first aid certificate and/or have health and safety training, whether it’s the tour leader, the tour manager or your driver. Emergency response training is coordinated with our head office. Where relevant, GeoCultura tour leaders complete specific training related to the activities offered on your tour.
Our tour leaders are selected for their abilities, competence and experience, so you can be sure the health, safety and environmental aspects of your tours are always carefully considered.
After your tour
While you’re back home looking through your vacation photos, we’re still thinking about how we can improve. We review all post-tour feedback and make appropriate improvements to the tour for future runs and successive planning.
Your peace of mind
We understand that our responsibilities to you go beyond your physical safety. That’s why we have several policies in place to help alleviate any concerns you may have about the security of your booking with us.
Your money is safe with us: The money you pay to GeoCultura is protected by insurance policies we have carefully selected to ensure the security of your funds. In the unlikely event of our insolvency before a tour, you will get your money back. If we fail during your tour, you will be returned to the contracted tour departure or tour end location.
