Ask the Travel Doctor: When The Times prescribes GeoCultura

2 MINUTE READ

What happens when a reader of The Times writes to the paper with a very specific holiday wishlist? Think small group, rich history, exceptional wildlife, good food and comfort…

In a recent Travel Doctor column, journalist Julia Brookes – a.k.a. The Travel Doctor – was asked to recommend a small-group tour to the Isles of Scilly for someone with a £2,000 budget and a keen interest in culture and the natural world. Her prescription?

“You sound like the ideal customer for GeoCultura…”

We couldn’t agree more!

Our Isles of Scilly tour was featured as the expert-led answer, and it’s not hard to see why. Over six days, our guests explore this archipelago through stories etched into stone, guided by historians, ecologists and passionate locals. There’s island-hopping by boat, a behind-the-scenes tour of Tresco Abbey Gardens and wildlife walks with a local ecologist. We also stay in a 16th-century star-shaped castle, perched above the sea.

It’s a proud moment for our small team to be recognised in The Times. To us, it’s a reminder that people are seeking something different from their holidays. Something deeper, more enriching – and something we’re uniquely placed to provide!
