Scotland Tours

Highlands, Skye & Outer Hebrides

Ali was a great guide and organiser, but more importantly, really friendly and felt a genuine part of the group. Phoebe is great fun and very enthusiastive and although joining the tour midway instantly felt she had been there all the time; also she pitched the geology at just the right level for interested amateurs rather than geology students.

Shetland

Helen was remarkably knowledgeable on local culture and history, the Shetland dialect, birds and flowers, and gave us a look into the community atmosphere. The natural beauty will stay with me forever! Everything was perfectly organised. Good transport to all the beautiful areas.

Highlands and Isle of Skye

Great group, wonderful leader, spectacular scenery. David was a great leader, very informative and good company!

England Tours

Isles of Scilly

I have been going to the Scillies since I was 8 years old and this has to go down as one of the best ever holidays. Everything was well organised: hotel room, food – all wonderful.

Peter M, Sep 2026

Jess the tour leader was exceptional – she organised everything so well to ensure that all interests/abilities were catered for, each day went smoothly. She also provided a wealth of information about the islands including an insight into everyday life and she was excellent company! I think everyone in the group felt the same and we all bonded as a group partly I think because of Jess’s excellent guiding.

Lindsey D, Sep 2026

Jurassic Coast

Jonathan is an excellent geologist and wonderful trip leader. It was an honour to have him as our guide.

Lyn C, April 2026

Bryher, one of the smallest inhabited islands on the Isles of Scilly

Wales Tours

Charles Darwin in North Wales

I am happy to report that the tour conducted by Rob Knipe and Michael Roberts wildly surpassed any expectations I might have had! …….. Foremost was the ongoing extraordinary conversations which of course would originate in geology and history but became wide-ranging and deep in numerous realms such as ecology, sustainability, cultural history, art, theology, poetry, music, family, psychology, the nature of consciousness. And with a welcome avoidance of politics, except in passing.

Rob D, September 2026

The best things were the wonderful Welsh scenery, the knowledge and patience of the leaders, plus super hotel in Wales.

Ireland Tours

West Ireland Tours

We very much enjoyed our West of Ireland geological tour; the sites we visited were all fascinating, and chosen to tell a coherent story. The trip felt like being with a group of friends rather than being on an organised tour. Having said that, this was largely because the mechanics of the tour – accommodation, transport etc – were so well organised as to be seamless.

Jon R, August 2026

Paul was animated and interesting and we never thought we would find so many jaw dropping places or hear so many stories bringing the places to life. We promise to come back!

Karst limestone, Burren National Park, County Clare, Ireland.

Canada & USA Tours

Canada – The Rockies & the Badlands

Our GeoCultura tour was excellent! The highlights were Russell and Jon. Aside from their brilliance, their two areas of expertise balance and coordinate beautifully. They also have a delightful chemistry of personality that enhances all aspects of their lessons.

Diana & Mark E, June 2026

Jon Noad was amazing – he was so knowledgeable and his delivery kept everyone interested! He knew exactly where the best places were to visit through the week and was great on checking that everyone was ok and keeping up.

Gail S, June 2025

USA – Utah National Parks

The tour was just magic. The visits and particularly the extra people you got to interact with us were first class, not to mention the wonderful places we stayed in – routing around in Bluff was so good. Great itinerary from Russell on the route back to Denver – St Elmo Ghost town was wonderful!
